RELATIONSHIP WITH
CHILDREN
Pyrenean Mastiffs like children company. They consider children
as if they were their games
partners. Pyrenan Mastiffs are affectionate and
patient and they will also accept their young
masters' friends easily. |

RELATIONSHIP WITH OTHER DOGS
Pyrenean Mastiffs can
peacefully live with another breed dogs. In
the picture on the left you can see Hula Hop de la Cabaņa de Otaula with Niņa,
a twelve years old mongrel who shares her vital
space with Pyrenean Mastiffs. All of them accept
each other. |
PYRENEAN MASTIFFS CARE
Feeding
The best feeding for our
pyrenean mastiff is dry food. We recommend the use of a Premium quality dry food. With this feeding dogs will not need
any viitamins or mineral complexes extra contribution as good quality dry food has all the necesary nutrients. It is
specially important to take care of the feeding during the
puppy growth age. Pyrenean Mastiffs growth age extends until 18
months old. It is well worthy to think that the puppy your
are taking home will reach 70 or 80 kilograms. This is the reason
why this fast growth requires a very balanced feeding to
attend to your PM puppy's bones and joints health.
We follow the following steps
in order to avoid stomach torsions:
-
Placing the bowls high
enough so that the dog does not need to crouch to eat.
-
Distributing the daily
amount of dry food in two takes (in the morning and at
night)
-
We never let our dogs
exercise immediately after eating (not even the daily
walks)
Health
Following the above advice for
a correct feeding of our Pyrenean Mastiff, visits to the
veterinarian will be limited to the scheduled inspections.
Vaccines must be repeated every year during all the life
of the dog and in addition we will give them a deworming
medication every six months.
Groomming
Pyrenean Mastiffs do not need
any special groomming. Two yearly baths will usually be
enough. We must brush our dogs with an appropriate
brush for long hair dogs once a week in order to preserve
PMs hair in optimal conditions. During dumb time a
good brush will make elimination of dead hair easier and it
will be suitable for the new hair growth.
